Peter (partner): Let's go for a walk. We should get some air.
Me: OK. I'm going to take a shower first.
Peter: OK.
Me: I promise I'll be quick.
(after shower, me in bathroom toweling off, Peter in living room)
Peter: It's rainy and yucky outside. It's cold.
Me: Oh no. What will we do?
Peter: Walk around in circles inside, I guess.
Me: Like puppies?
(Peter turns on television)
Peter: They're forecasting snow.
Me: It's February!
Peter: Sweetie, it's late March.
Me: No, February. He lives on the other side of the two holes in the sky. He stops the kites and balloons from flying. He blocks out the sun with clouds and makes it snow for days and days and days. He stole all the children and buried them underground. But if we're lucky, the girl who smells of honey and smoke will save us.
Peter: Whatever you say, sweetie.
Me: No seriously, you need to read this book.
